&& this is what we call risky business...
The smallest of smiles graced her invisible expression. Aleah's entire body was shielded from view by a long, midnight blue, cloak. It slid across the damp earth as she moved through the night listlessly, gracefully. She had a way of making walking an entirely new game. That's what had made her such a brilliant quidditch player back in her school days. Well, that and the fact that she was secretly undergoing Death Eater training with Story Montgomery himself. Story and Aleah had become rather close over the years. Not close in the ways that Aleah had always wanted, but close nonetheless. It always surprised her, that he was incapable of returning the feelings she had for him. What made them so different? What made him so distant from her? Aleah wasn't afraid to admit to things. She had felt the way she did now for Story ever since they were thirteen and she kissed his cheek on the walk to Hogsmeade. It was stupid, childish, immature. Aleah couldn't manage to care though. She also lived to serve him in the form of his most prized Death Eater. Aleah fought this momentarily silent war on little calls to meet with the necessary people. Contacts were vital and tonight was one of their most important.
Jason Potter was the co-leader of The order of the Phoenix. This was something Aleah could have known without the hard facts. See, Christopher Potter was his cousin and the two had been childhood friends. Aleah knew this because she fought with the two of them throughout the course of their schooling. Jason was always more interesting to Aleah though. He had a certain spark that she could never quite find in Christopher. The two Potters made her life more amusing somehow. She used to love picking on them before. She will always feel the same. So, tonight was all one very long game to her. Tonight was a spat of argument that she could look forward to. It was a night of mild negotiation. Well, there were never negotiation with people like Death Eaters, people like Story, people like Aleah. There were no lines between right and wrong, there was power and revenge and how to make both worth the most in the world they lived in.
Aleah knew and fully understood the finer details of Story's past. It was something she hung over the heads of even Story's co-leader, Malfoy. Aleah knew more than them, she knew the things she needed to bring herself to the top. Aleah was now showing off her superiority to be the one to meet the co-leader of the opposing alliance. It was her moment to show off just how much power she really had.
So, she opened the door to The Hog's Head as gracefully as the very walk she'd just displayed. She kept her hood up. She kept her eyes down. She held her hand out with the exact change for her single mug of fire whiskey. She ordered in a hushed tone and then took her table in the back of the room with the poorest light and the fewest lingering ears. The worst part? This 'secret' conversation was one that was supposed to be over-heard. Aleah knew that reporters, vandals, thieves, they all sat scattered around the dingy pub, waiting for answers that Aleah had the power to give. She turned her gaze up ever so slightly to search the room for Jason Potter's head to bob along. Where wa she now? Off with his precious fiancee? Aleah fought the strange desire to laugh at that.
